Iron (Fe) – Iron carbide or Cementite (Fe3c) Phase Diagram - III

Peritectic  Reaction
Peritectic Reaction occurs at 1495oC, in this reaction Liquid of 0.53%   of Carbon combines with Delta(δ) ferrite of 0.09% Carbon to form  Austenite (γ) of 0.17% of Carbon.
                            1495oC
Liquid (0.53% C) +  δ (0.09 % C)  --------->   γ (0.17 % C)
(Liquid)                    (Solid)                           (Solid)

Eutectic Reaction
This Reaction occurs at 1130oC, in which Liquid of 4.3 % Carbon
solidifies to form austenite of 1.7 % C and Fe3C 6.67 % C
                                                    1130oC
Liquid (4.3 % C)  --------->  γ (1.7 % C) + Fe3C (6.67 % C)
        (Liquid)                           (Solid)                  (Solid)

Eutectoid Reaction
This Reaction occurs at 723 oC, in this reaction Austenite of      0.83 %C solidifies to form ferrite of 0.02 % C and  Fe3C(6.6 % C)
  723 oC
γ (0.83 % C) -------> ferrite (0.02 % C) + Fe3C(6.67 % C)
