Iron (Fe) – Iron carbide or Cementite (Fe3c) Phase Diagram - II

Steel - Iron (Fe) – Carbon alloys containing up to 1.7 % of Carbon is called Steel.

Eutectoid  Steel
Iron (Fe) – Carbon alloys contains 0.83 % of Carbon is called Eutectoid Steel which entirely consists of pearlite.
Iron (Fe) – Carbon alloys containing less than 0.83 % of Carbon is called Hypo-Eutectoid Steel which consists of ferrite and pearlite.
Iron (Fe) – Carbon alloys containing more than 0.83 % of Carbon but less than 1.7 % Carbon are called Hyper-Eutectoid Steel which consists of Cementite and pearlite

Cast Iron - Iron (Fe) – Carbon alloys containing above 1.7 % of Carbon is called Cast Iron.

Eutectic
Cast Iron
The Iron - Carbon alloys containing 4.3 % Carbon is called Eutectic Cast Iron.
hypo eutectic Cast Iron
Iron (Fe) – Carbon alloys containing more than 1.7 % of Carbon but less than 4.3 % Carbon are called Hypo-Eutectic Cast Iron.
Cast Iron
Iron (Fe) – Carbon alloys containing more than 4.3 % of Carbon called Hyper-Eutectic Cast Iron.
